- Must do in Ibiza
The sexiest and most renowned of the Balearics, Ibiza attracts droves of hedonists from across the spectrum. During the summer, the island is transformed into one big party. The island is well known for its summer club parties which attract large numbers of tourists, but the island and the Spanish Tourist Office have been working in order to promote more family-oriented tourism.
Though some dispute the island's ability to attract higher income families in large numbers, due to a lack of professionalism in the hospitality and service sector, the island is keen to dispel its image as merely a destination for young clubbers. Noted clubs include Space, Pacha, Privilege, (ex Ku), Amnesia, DC 10, Eden, and Es Paradis. Probably the most famous bar on the island is Café del Mar.
This bar is significantly connected with the music genre of chill-out-music. The other notable player in the entertainment world in recent years has been Ibiza Rocks who feature more live acts than the established clubs. The brand now runs the most famous youth hotel on the island, Ibiza Rocks Hotel.
Ibiza is also home to the legendary "port" in the district of Ibiza, a popular stop for many tourists and now a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
With its clear seas, skies and relatively unspoilt beaches, Ibiza is also the sybarite's choice destination. Ibiza may be a party destination but don't let the throbbing party beats convince you that's all there is to the island.
The island is great for walking, swimming and riding and its unspoilt towns will let you into the "real" Ibiza.
GO THERE FOR:
Clubs and Parties: Why do we go to Ibiza? Well it's mainly a case of partying from dusk ‘til dawn and knowing that the flame is still burning. From Pacha to Space to the private jet parties held by the visiting glitterati, there's always a surprise around the corner.
The Beaches: From the upmarket beaches like Las Salinas and Cala Jondal to the more hippy and rustic beaches like Cala Benirras and Cala Conta, there's something for everyone in Ibiza when it comes to bathing yourself in the sun, beachside.
DON’T MISS:
Tagomago Island & Formentera - Head to these islands north-west and south of Ibiza, respectively, for a splendid day-trip.
Pre-parties at Cafe Mambo - Attend one of the nights at Cafe Mambo for the oh-so-hip pre-parties.
Spend a day at the Blue Marlin - This exclusive beach club is perhaps the new Nikki Beach everyone wants to go to. Sunbathing and daily DJ driven music will give your tan a twist.

GETTING AROUND:
If there are more than two people travelling, then taxi is the preferred method. You can find them at every corner, and prices are usually competitive unless you end up with a rogue driver in which case haggle, haggle, haggle.
WHEN TO GO:
Summer is of course when the hedonist horde hits the island, so take a step back and head there when high season either hasn't begun or is over - that's usually in spring or in autumn. It's still as fun but not congested, and you will be able to observe the life of the island in a less hedonistic and more contemplative fashion, as you wander the sun-soaked pathways that have inspired so many generations of visitors. Ibiza has a Mediterranean climate which has arid summers and slightly wetter winters. The summers are hot with the average daily mean in the mid 20?C/upper 70?F and winters are mild with the daily mean in the lower teens ?C/mid 50?F.
