One of the trendiest tables in town is the perennially packed The Lion Restaurant. Hidden away in a discreet building in West Village, The Lion offers the best of New York ‘s trendy dining scene – an Americana hit with old-world luxury at every corner.
Acclaimed designer Meg Sharpe created the interiors of this West Village gem by scouring for the city’s best antiques to give a nostalgic old-club vibe, hanging works by David La Chapelle, Basquiat and Marilu Nordenflycht around a beautiful gentleman’s club-like dining room.
A-list celebrities are quietly ushered to the upstairs loft dining room, while ‘regular’ diners can enjoy the well-lit, sunken dining room below.
“The menu derives from DeLucie’s expertise in simple, wonderful unhip American specialties…that have made his work such a hit.”
- Vanity Fair
“Dry-aged Delmonico steak arrives beautifully blistered, thick as a book, with a pitcher of silky bearnaise.”
- Time Out New York
“A standout menu includes traditional Italian-inspired dishes all brought to the table in…a perfect presentation.”
- Vogue.com
“DeLucie clearly had a good time coming up with his menu, and a lot of the dishes are as good as the room is fun….The place bubbles.”
