Aquae Calidae in Milan City is an emotional and sensorial experience. "I‘m trying to sell the Roman concept of idleness," laughed Luciana Russi, the brains (and style arbiter) behind this unique spa, next to one of the city‘s busiest streets.

The décor is more Zen than Roma B.C., the minimalist style dictated by the use of natural materials. Guests can meditate, sweat it out in a scented, candle-lit steam room and a sea slat, spring water and oil scrub by a tunic-clad maid, and then indulge in a massage or a signature sonkey lotion treatment.

Many are the philosophies which give a great importance to introspection in order to obtain a good health, but it is the Roman culture to say how to feel beautiful, relaxed and healthy, thanks to a deep knowledge of oneself :
